Plantation Drive Organized by University of Lucknow During Van Mahotsav Week

Lucknow. The Ground and Garden Department of the University of Lucknow, in collaboration with the 63 UP BN National Cadet Corps (NCC), organized a plantation drive in the tagore lawn of Lucknow University campus during the Van Mahotsav week. As part of this initiative, a significant plantation event was conducted by students, teachers, NCC cadets and employees of the University. The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Honourable Vice Chancellor Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, who inaugurated the program. Prof. S. N. Pandey and Maj Kiran Lata Dangwal coordinated the programme. The NCC cadets and students displayed great enthusiasm and actively participated in the plantation drive to make lucknow university campus clean and green. Among the distinguished attendees were Col Harsh Kumar Jha, SM Prof. Poonam Tondan (Dean Student Welfare), Dr. Alka Mishra, and Dr. Rajnish Yadav, teachers, employees and students, who joined the event and showed their support for this important environmental cause. The plantation drive aimed to enhance the green cover on the university premises, promote biodiversity, and create a more sustainable and eco-friendly environment. About 11000 plants of timber, fruits, ornamental and medicinal values will be planted during the month of July in both campuses of Lucknow University. The ground and gardens department, University of Lucknow in collaboration with the NCC is taking a significant step towards preserving and protecting the biodiversity and the environment.
